The human figure provides scale, interest, and life to a painting. As soon as you add a figure you are creating a story. In this class you’ll build your confidence by starting with small sketchy figure studies, to simplified figures, to a figure in a scene with more details. With a painterly approach, you’ll explore how to draw people, mix skin tones, capture light and shadow, paint fabric, and incorporate the scene with a background. The instructor will provide reference images and you are welcome to bring your own!
