Welcome to our Sketching Workshop on the River Rhine, a one-of-a-kind creative journey hosted aboard a fully chartered river cruise. From June 25 to July 2, 2027, you’ll travel from Basel, Switzerland to Amsterdam, sketching your way through some of Europe’s most iconic river towns and landscapes.
French Escapade has chartered the entire ship — which means that aside from the friendly crew and staff, nearly every passenger is a fellow sketcher. Think of this as a floating mini-symposium: a welcoming, immersive environment where ideas, techniques, and inspiration flow as freely as the Rhine itself.

You’ll enjoy two full days of instruction with each instructor, giving you exposure to a wide range of approaches, techniques, and ways of seeing.
Who Is This Cruise For?
Skill Level
This workshop is designed for sketchers with some experience in watercolor who want to deepen their skills and confidence.
Mobility
Participants should be comfortable walking at least 15 minutes while carrying painting supplies.
