Workshop Overview
This is Cindy Briggs and Theresa Goesling’s fourth workshop at the stunning Salinara Art Farm on the west coast of Sicily—an inspiring creative haven just a short walk from the sea, surrounded by salt pans, vineyards, olive groves, and iconic windmills.
Sicily is a crossroads of cultures shaped over thousands of years. Its landscapes, architecture, food, and people offer endless inspiration for artists who love to paint on location and capture the essence of place in both image and words.
What You’ll Experience
Painting & Journaling on Location
Enjoy daily painting excursions to:
- Colorful salt pans glowing at sunset
- Fishing boats and coastal scenes
- Lively local markets
- Picturesque villages with narrow streets and historic churches
We’ll also explore:
- The medieval hill town of Erice
- The Selinunte Archaeological Park, home to some of the Mediterranean’s best-preserved Greek temples
And yes—there will be time to swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
Instruction & Skill Development
Cindy and Theresa provide:
- Daily watercolor demonstrations
- Personalized, one-on-one guidance
- Techniques for sketching and simplifying complex subjects
- Exploration of color, water, texture, and composition
- Creative watercolor journaling with writing and personal expression
The workshop concludes with a group review and discussion, celebrating each participant’s creative journey.

About Theresa Goesling
Theresa Goesling is an internationally recognized instructor, author, juror, and former President of the Northwest Watercolor Society. A former Art Director for Eddie Bauer, her work has been published in Splash, Plein Air Magazine, Watercolor Magazine, and more. She is a featured demonstration artist for Daniel Smith Watercolors and has taught international workshops for over 20 years.
About Cindy Briggs
Known for her luminous, sun-drenched watercolors, Cindy Briggs has led workshops worldwide for over 25 years. A Master Artist with the National Watercolor Society and Signature Member of multiple watercolor societies, Cindy’s work appears in major publications and exhibitions. She is a nurturing, inspiring teacher who brings joy and confidence to artists of all levels.
